Framing the Scab Wall

The scab wall is the wall that will tie the back wall of the garage to the existing home.  There will be a 36" door (in swing) installed in this wall as well, so the framing is minimal.  Minimal, but a bit complicated. 

Due to the space limitations, I used a set of header hangers to hang the door header.  This as needed to eliminate one of the door trimmers in order to keep our 38" rough opening.

The bottom of the opening was framed up to match the elevation of the rear patio.  Once the wall is completely framed, the siding will be slipped into place, and fastened.
