Continuing with Paint Prep
Our goal is to get the entire garage AND house painted before winter. This is turning out to be quite the feat. This house is bigger than it looks, and we have had to do a fare amount of repairs to the siding and trim in order to prep for paint.
I think Maureen has unloaded 5 or 6 tubes of Alex Plus caulking on it so far. It is coming around though. And we are nearly ready.
Maureen has been prime painting the entire West wall by hand. it is by far the roughest wall. The West seems to take the brunt of the severe storms here. High winds, and such. The pressure washer took nearly all of the existing paint off of it. And the panels are VERY dry.
The entire house was gone over.... all loose nails were removed, loose panels were nailed back into place with ring shank nails, all holes and cracks sealed with caulk, and all caulk primed with that lovely "battleship" grey primer. The idea is to use the same base color throughout, to reduce the chances of ghosting thru the new paint.
