Building the Stairwell and Garage Door Landing

I pre-assembled the stairwell stringers and blocking.  Primed it, and with the help of a friend installed it.  Somewhere along the line my math got screwed up, as the stringers are too long and I have one too many steps.  So I will have to trim it a bit.  But at least it is installed.  That thing is HEAVY!!

Once the stairwell is trimmed to the proper length, a concrete landing will be poured, the stringers set into the concrete, and the handrail installed.

I also built the landing for the back door of the garage.  No more big drop!

Eventually the landing will be either covered in indoor-outdoor carpet, or a non-slip deck coating.  Once we decide what we want to do with the back deck surface, we will know!
