Grading and grounds
Changing our plans from removing the slab, to pouring over it dramatically changes the amount of fill and grading that needs to be done. In addition to the soil already on site, I have estimated that I will need roughly 4 yards of top soil fill, and another 2-3 yards of 3/4 minus compactable gravel. Much of this will come after the footings and stem all are poured/built. But some of the grading was done today.
We had a couple of big holes where the trees used to reside. Those were filled and compacted using the BobCat, and will be compacted further with a whacker later on.
The entire site was smoothed and leveled. And whatever clean top soil I could easily spare, I took to the backyard for my wife's new garden.

Another day comes to an end. And I find myself taking in the view! Soon though, a nice garage will be filling the void!

And in the coming months, we will have a garden of veggies! Also note all of the firewood that the two trees provided. Free heat for a couple years!
