Privacy Fence and Relocated Property Fence
Before building the garage, the house had a small slab and fenced portion to hide ugly items like trash cans and such. I needed a place to hide these items, as well as dress up the side of the garage that you see driving up the hill. The garage is pretty big, and it is the very first thing you see.
So I built a stylish cedar privacy fence, both to hide ugly junk, and to dress the place up.
The framing is all treated lumber, and the fencing is a "mixed" grade cedar.
The bottom of the fence is finished off with treated 2x12s, that double as small retaining walls, to retain the soil needed to keep the surface inside the fence level. It will also prevent wash-out during the rains.

At the same time, I was working on relocating a portion of the back yard property fence. there was a LARGE stack of rail-road ties (to be used up in the next project) on the corner of the property when we moved in. And it seems that the picket fence was installed after the stack of ties arrived. So the fence made a dog-leg, AROUND the ties. This not only wasted a ton of space, but made getting to the railroad ties near impossible, unless you felt like lifting them 4 feet to get over the fence!
So I removed a portion of the fence, moved the stack of railroad ties, and relocated the fence to actually follow the property line.

My current inspector paid a visit to check out the fence. It passed :)
